Wellness, Spas, and Fitness in Santa Fe
Santa Fe has been a wellness destination long before wellness became an industry. The dry mountain air, natural hot springs, and the city's deep connections to both Native American healing traditions and holistic health practices make it a place where taking care of your body feels natural rather than forced.

Hot Springs
Northern New Mexico sits on geothermally active land, and natural hot springs are part of the landscape.
- Ojo Caliente Mineral Springs — About an hour north of Santa Fe, near the village of Ojo Caliente. One of the oldest health resorts in America, with iron, arsenic-free lithia, soda, and mud pools. Day soaking available. The historic property was recently renovated.
- Jemez Hot Springs — West of Santa Fe in the Jemez Mountains. The developed Jemez Hot Springs Heritage Baths in the village offer clean, family-friendly soaking. Wild (undeveloped) hot springs are also accessible via hikes in the surrounding national forest — Spence Hot Springs is the most popular.
- Montezuma Hot Springs — Free, natural pools near Las Vegas, NM (about 70 miles east of Santa Fe). On the grounds of the United World College. Informal, clothing-optional in some pools. Beautiful setting beside the Gallinas River.
Yoga and Meditation
- Body of Santa Fe — Downtown studio with a wide range of yoga styles.
- Upaya Zen Center — A residential Zen Buddhist center on Cerro Gordo Road. Public meditation sessions, retreats, and dharma talks.
- Santa Fe Community Yoga Center — Community-oriented studio with donation-based classes.
Fitness and Recreation
- Santa Fe Place Mall Gym / Genoveva Chavez Community Center — The Genoveva Chavez center is the city's main public recreation complex with a pool, ice rink, gym, and climbing wall. Day passes available.
- Trail running and hiking — The Atalaya Mountain trail, Dale Ball trails, and the road to the Santa Fe ski basin offer altitude training that many athletes specifically seek out.
